Marilynn Larkin is an award-winning medical journalist and editor based in New York City. She started out as a writer for consumer magazines, wrote five health books for the general public, and was a regular contributor to Consumer Reports and national women’s magazines. She segued to medical writing 25-plus years ago and has never looked back. She was a contributing editor to The Lancet and its sister publications for 10 years; a long-time contributor to the Reuters Health professional feed; and worked with a wide range of medical societies, publications, and publishers, including Elsevier, Lippincott, The New York Academy of Sciences, the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening, and Belvoir Media Group. She is passionate about working with Medscape in specialties including, among others, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, and substance use disorders. She is also a fitness professional and dance enthusiast, with a master's degree in theatre from Hunter College.
